Soapstone Stoves
Enter the world of soapstone. Soapstone is the result of transformations of the primordial magma that makes up our planet billions of years ago. Pressure of the earth's crust, temperatures above 5000 ° C and other particular situations have created this exceptional stone. The GEOS stoves are all hand made, they came disassembled and have to be assembled stone by stone on site. every stove is unique, it will never be the same as another .... it will always be a single piece of art.
THE ADVANTAGES OF SOAPSTONE
Who already knows the characteristics of soapstone, will be surprised to see this new stone from Brazil: its veins, the Italian design and technical innovation of the combustion chamber refractorys, will amaze you. The soapstone stove also has a great advantage: it heats up quickly and then slowly transfers the accumulated heat over a period of 12-24 hours. It has another advantage: good resistance to heat, is among the most resistant materials that nature provides us today. Let's recap: it heats up quickly but it slowly releases the warmt, has a high specific weight (1 cubic meter is equivalent to 2850 kg), resists wery well to heat, is't beautiful and silky to touch, it is waterproof and will not stain.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
How does a soapstone stove work? Simple: the weight of the stone is the basis of the principle, the more weight and more you can warm up. Since its discovery, soapstone has become the most sought after due to its high specific weight. The basic principle is, producing a lot of heat by burning wood in less time. This allows the flame to heat up the stone that will accumulate the energy and transfer the heat slowly. The combustion chamber is made of high quality refractory materials and enabled us to develop up to 1000 ° C in a short time: a high temperature has the great merit of the wood to burn completely, leaving very little ash and realizing a true clean combustion. No stove had never reached that results. In addition, the soapstone stoves achieve high quantity of heat in a very short time, and will release it warming up the surface of the walls of the stove. The tests in our laboratory have shown a performance well over 80%. Think about it: all the energy of combustion is captured by the stone, infact the exausted smokes of the chimeny are realtively low, temperatures ranging between 50 ° and 220 ° C maximum.
